A Modern Still Life

There is something so special about still lives. They feel like an inside joke: You have to know about the time and era to really “get” what the piece is about. Often they are really “of their time”- explicitly existing of their era.

So what would something like that look like now? For me? What is the inside joke for people like me, living like me? And that is how we’ve stumbled on this latest piece (or really piece to be). This photo is going to be my reference for one of my up coming pieces.

I frankly don’t want to say to much about the meaning or reasoning behind each of the objects. They were all chosen carefully and with reason.
